Features

As deciduous flowering shrubs also called ‘chamkkot’, azaleas bloom in April before coming into leaf. The color of its blossoms with the funnel-shape corolla is magenta or bright red.

Reason for designation

They inhabit everywhere, especially across Geumjeongsan Mountain and Yunsan Mountain. The artless image of the flowers represents our frugal and conservative Geumjeong people’s lives. The flower symbolizes the solidarity and harmony between Geumjeong people.
